The Indian Youth Congress (IYC) on Thursday appointed Ankita Dutta as the new president of the Assam Pradesh Youth Congress.
IYC president Srinivas BV said that Ankita has been appointed as the president of APYC keeping in view of her services for the organisation.
33-year-old Ankita Dutta, daughter of former APCC president Late Anjan Dutta, unsuccessfully contested the last Assam Assembly election from the Amguri constituency.
Earlier she served as Vice President of Assam Pradesh Youth Congress.
