Activists of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) stage symbolic gherao on PM Narendra Modi at Golaghat

The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) Golaghat district committee, on Wednesday staged a protest against the citizenship amendment bill 2016. The committee staged a symbolic protest by gheraoeing a picture of prime minister Narendra Modi at Golaghat.

Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad central committee assistant general secretary Jitul Rajkhowa,  criticized the  Narendra Modi-led BJP government for taking the initiative to grant  the citizenship bill to all minority refugees from Bangladesh and Pakistan.

He said the steps taken by the Modi government, would paralyze the indigenous people of Assam socially, economically and educationally. The AJYCP would never allow Assam to bear the burden of minority refugees.

If the citizenship bill 2016 becomes a law then Assam and its indigenous people would be like Tripura, he said. The activists of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad  raised various slogans against the central government as well as Sarbananda Sonowal led Assam government.

In the protest Golaghat Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad, president Abdul Hasim, vice president Mrinal Hazarika, Babul Dutta, general secretary Nikunja Medhi. Jayanta Saikia, Jatiya Mahila Parishad president Ranju Das were present.
