A man was stabbed to death by some unidentified miscreants at Bilasipara in Dhubri district of Assam on Sunday night.
The shocking incident took place at a village in Kazaikata area of Bilasipara.
The dead has been identified as Sahar Ali Sheikh.
Sheikh was dragged out into the street from his home by some unidentified miscreants late in the night and then was allegedly beaten and tortured to death by the rogues.
After getting information about the incident, the local police rushed to the spot and found the dead body of the man.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident. However, no one has been arrested till now.
The residents of the village urged the police to take strict action against the culprits.
Notably, a youth was also recently stabbed by another one near Chandmari police station in Guwahati.

The duo had got into a heated argument after which one of them stabbed the other one with a knife causing him grievous injuries.
The attacker – Trailokya Sarma – has since been arrested and the police have registered a case against him. He is a resident of Bamunimaidan area of the city.
The injured youth has been identified as Dipjyoti Lahkar. He is a resident of Forest Gate area of Narengi in Guwahati.
