Two Udalguri  teams of Students’ Olympic are going to take part in the U- 17 and U-22 football competition in the 4th Students’ Olympic National Games next year.

The competition is being organized by the Students’ Olympic Association of India in association with the Haryana Students’ Olympic Association from January 4 to January 7 next at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Rohtak in Haryana.

The teams are representing Assam in the four-day event.

The under-17 football players selected are  Bhumsa Boro, Uttam Boro, Phwilaw Boro, Ashik Boro, Napoleon Daimari, Biki Baglari, Probal Khakhlari, Juliash Baglari, Maikal Daimari, Sanswrang  Baglari, Rilius Basumatary, Michael Daimari, Abhijeet Basumatary, Promod Daimari, Bikash Boro, Bikash Daimari and Arnold Mochahari.

On the other hand, the under-22 football players selected for the event are  Akash Daimari, Mithinga Basumatary, Ranchai Basumatary, Boniface Basumatary, Raja Basumatary, Bronu Khakhlari, Pranjal Mochahari, Babil Daimari, Jackson Bara, Ajil Daimari and Mriganka Boruah.

Coach of both the teams is Dhaneswar Basumatary while Ashif Basumatary is the manager.

Moreover, Winning Daimari is the lone candidate from Assam to participate in the events of athletics in 100 and 200 meter race.

The 4th Students’ Olympic National Games will be held in five disciplines: athletics, archery, football, skating and handball and will have both boys and girls category.
