KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang addressing Vikas Utsav. Northeast Now

Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Chief Executive Member (CEM) Tuliram Ronghang on Sunday claimed that “no other political party has done so much for Karbi Anglong compared to the BJP”.

The KAAC CEM made this claim at the Vikas Utsav held at United Karbi Club Auditorium in Bakaliaghat of Karbi Anglong.

Ronghang said, “In the last MAC (Member of Autonomous Council) election for 24 seats, the BJP won 22 seats and two others seats were won by independents; so there is no opposition.”

The CEM further said, “We have been honest. We have decided to let the people know about all the schemes coming from the State Government and the Centre. There is no need for any RTI as we have maintained transparency.”

Addressing the gathering, he said, “The purpose of calling you to this meeting is to let you know about all these. But, to keep working, we need your cooperation. Let us keep demanding statehood, but at the same time there should be no violence. We should not attack each other’s homes. We will keep on demanding statehood and will not take rest until it is achieved, but at the same time we will have to carry on the development process, and create jobs for the new generation.”

BJP’s East Karbi Anglong District Committee president Ratan Teron, who is also an Executive Member (EM) of KAAC, spoke on the various schemes and programmes of the BJP-led NDA Government and the State Government.
