During a joint operation launched by Kokrajhar Police and 210 Cobra Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the finance secretary of the anti-talk faction of the National Santhal Liberation Army (NSLA-AT) was nabbed from Mallikapur village under Gossaigaon PS in Kokrajhar.
According to Kokrajhar Police, based on a specific tip-off, the finance secretary of National Santhal Liberation Army (NSLA-AT), 23-year-old Nripen Hasda alias Lara alias Muna, son of late Abraham Hasda from Mallikapur village under Gossaigaon PS, was nabbed on Saturday night from the house of his brother-in-law, 40-year-old Habil Baskey, son of late Abraham Baskey, of the same village.
Informing that the joint operation was launched by the Kokrajhar district police and the 210 Cobra Battalion of CRPF, police said, the operation was carried out at about 9:15 PM on Saturday.
On the basis of the revelations made by the apprehended NSLA (Anti-talk) leader, the joint operation team was able to recover a Chinese hand grenade from a nearby jungle concealed inside a bush, said Kokrajhar Police in a press communique.
“On being led by the apprehended person, the joint operational team recovered one Chinese hand grenade from the nearby jungle which was concealed inside the bushes,” stated Kokrajhar Police.
Police further stated that during preliminary interrogation, it came to light that he “underwent arms training at Satyapur jungle under Gossaigaon PS during 2010.” A case has been registered against him at Gossaigaon PS [Case No. 222/18 U/S 364(A)/506] under the IPC.
“Further investigation is on,” added Kokrajhar Police.
