Noted singer Pankaj Bordoloi was felicitated by the three organizations of Tezpur Ban Theatre, Sahitya Sabha and Natya Sanmilani at his home on Wednesday.
Bordoloi has been undergoing treatment for cancer and has been ill for sometime now. Bordoloi has released several songs on Bishnu Rabha , Jyoti Prasad and Bhupen Hazarika . His special song Jaya Nai.. Jaya Nai… of Bishnu Prasad Rabha and famous modern song which had super hit cassettes during 1990 decade, “Ako Sarighat “.
Bordoloi was born in 1959 at Rupajuli tea estate near Binduguri in Tezpur. He has performed in innumerable stage functions all over Assam. He is a prolific folk singer of Assam. Bordoloi has sung diverse folk songs like, Tokari geet , Bihu geet , Golpariya Loka geet and many others .
His command over Jyoti Sangit and Bishnu Sangit is well known all over. He has also sung along with the great Assamese cultural and literary music maestro Dr Bhupen Hazarika in several functions and most notably in one famous music cassette named “Swadex”.
The three organizations felicitated him on the eve of Rabha Divash at his Tezpur Dhanua Nagar resident.
