Assam Social Welfare Minister Pramila Rani Brahma on Monday laid the foundation stone for the construction and up-gradation of Dotma-Balaban Road under Chief Minister’s signature project for the year 2018-19 in Kokrajhar.

The construction and up-gradation of Dotma-Balaban road including RCC bridge over Loonga river will be done at the cost of Rs 10 crore.

Talking to reporters, Pramila Rani Brahma Assam Social Welfare Minister and who is also the local MLA of East Kokrajhar No-30 formally laid the foundation stone RCC Bridge over Loonga River at Dotma in Kokrajhar.

“I told to the contractor to prepare an estimate of around Rs 50 crore to construct the model road and RCC bridge from Banargaon to Dotma but our Assam Government and PWD minister have sanctioned only Rs 10 crore to all MLAs for all round development activities in the State,” she said.

Brahma also said that this RCC bridge over Longa River will be helpful to students and common people to go to Dotma bazaar, schools and colleges and more than ten villages will be benefited from this bridge.

BTC executive member Rajib Kumar Brahma and other senior officers of PWD (Roads) were also present in the programme.
