The Lakhimpur police arrested two persons along with banned substances during an operation in Harmutty in the district recently.
Following a tip-off, a team of Lakhimpur police led by additional superintendent of police (ASP) Pranab Kumar Pegu intercepted a car coming out from Harmutty Railway Junction on that night.
The Datsun Go car bearing registration number AR01J7276 was stopped by the police team and seized heroin weighting 11 grams along with 10 syringes and cash amount of Rs 74,000 from the possession of Jiten Biswas and Rakesh Biswas.
The police team was assisted by deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Farukh Ahmed and sub-inspector Abhilesh Talukdar.
