Kehutoli Bangrim Club (KBC) lifted the 39th Amba Medhi prize money invitational football trophy organised by the Mangaldai Sports Association (MSA) here in Darrang district on Sunday.

In the final of the premier football tournament of the State Kehutoli upset MSA Super Division Football League champion Sira Seuji Sanggha by a solitary goal.

After a barren first half, Amesh Ali through a solo move from the left flank surprised the Sira Seuji custodian with a accurate left foot salvo in the 29th minute of the second half.

The goal brought more life to the match by Jigesh Boro and Swmaosan Daimary of Kehutoli and Tinku Barglary of Sira Seuji who narrowly missed the targets.

By virtue of this win, Kehutoli lifted the Amba Medhi memorial running trophy along with a prize money of Rs 35,000 while the runners-up Sira Seuji Sanggha received the Ratneswar Kataki memorial trophy besides a cash prize of Rs 25,000.

Satish Boro of Sira Seuji was adjudged as the winner of the Bidya Ram Medhi memorial best player trophy while Poti Ram Deka memorial best goal keeper award went to Kehutoli custodian Sashanka Baisya.

In the prize distribution function, Mangaldai legislator Gurujyoti Das, Chairman Mangaldai Municipal Board Pratap Bordoloi, trophy donor Biren Medhi, prominent physician Dr Amarendra Narayan Deb, Secretary, MSA Anupam Deka gave away the trophies and cash awards.

Earlier, the final match was ceremonially inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner, Darrang, Ashok Kr Barman in presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Chakravarty among others.
