Markazul Ma’arif, a unit of Ajmal CSR reconstructed a damaged embankment of river Jamuna under Hojai LAC of Assam.

After completing the work on war footing, on Thursday the reconstructed embankment was inaugurated by Circle Officer of Hojai, Mridusmita Bora, ACS in presence of S H Chowdhury, working president and K R Laskar, general secretary of Markazul Ma’arif, a press communique issued by the organization  stated.

As per the communique, hundreds of local people witnessed the event.

It further stated that at present the river Jamuna is flowing in highly swollen water level which could have flushed to affected villages if the embankment was not reconstructed by Markazul Maarif.

Around 20 villages are saved because of the reconstruction of the flood damaged embankment quickly at Namdaboka.

For this, the local people expressed their gratitude to Ajmal CSR and Circle Officer Bora also offered special thanks to Markazul Maarif on behalf of the district administration.
