Assam: Drug-addict son allegedly kills mother in Kokrajhar

Guwahati: In a tragic incident in Kokrajhar town, a 35-year-old drug-addict son allegedly killed his own mother as she refused to give him money to buy drugs.

The accused is the son of former Kokrajhar Government College principal Prof Nagen Brahma, residing in Kokrajhar Ward No. 8 Mwiderkhoro (Hatimatha).

According to reports, the son, Padopani Brahma killed his own mother, Parbati Brahma, aged 80.

The incident occurred when she refused to give him money to purchase drugs.

Padopani struck his mother in the head with a hard object after she refused to provide him with money to purchase drugs, resulting in her death.

The accused Padopani has been apprehended by the police and further investigation into the case is underway.
