Assam: ASI held for accepting bribe in Charaideo

Guwahati: Continuing in its effort to curb corruption in government offices, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption laid a trap and caught an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of Borhat PS in Assam’s Charaideo district on Friday.

The accused ASI, Uttam Saikia demanded a bribe from the complainant in order to give him relief in an ongoing case.

The officers laid the trap and caught the ASI red-handed accepting a bribe in his rented house in Habi Gaon, Borhat town.

Taking to ‘X’ the vigilance and anti-corruption team wrote, “Today @DIR_VAC_ASSAM trapped ASI (UB) Uttam Saikia of Borhat PS, Dist- Charaideo after he accepted demanded bribe in his rented house at Habi gaon, Borhat town from the complainant for giving relief to him in a case.”
