Katu Yomcha from Arunachal Pradesh won a silver medal in the sixth International Strength Lifting and Incline Bench Press Competition, underway in Bali, Indonesia.
She participated in the 65 kg category, both in strength lifting and incline bench press events, informed the Arunachal Pradesh Strengthlifting Association (Interim).
Yomcha is in the 55-member Indian contingent participating in the championship.
She is a renowned sportsperson from West Siang, and had won a gold medal in arm wrestling in the first State Olympics in 2015, and a bronze medal each in the National Championship in 2016 and 2017. She also won a bronze medal in the 70 kg category in the National Strength Lifting Championship held in Maharashtra this year.
