The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) on Sunday signed a lease agreement with Alliance Air Aviation Limited to supply two Civil Do-228 aircraft for regional operations in Arunachal Pradesh.

Informing about the development HAL tweeted: “India’s Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) received a major boost today with HAL signing a lease agreement with Alliance Air Aviation Limited for the supply of two Civil Do-228 aircraft for regional operations in Arunachal Pradesh.”

Speaking on the occasion, Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu said it was a big day for the state given the geographical challenges in the vast state, the connectivity will now be easier.

“Very happy to witness the historic lease agreement signing between @HALHQBLR & @allianceair through VC,” Pema Khandu tweeted.

Informing that the India-made Do-228 aircraft will be 16-seater, Khandu said, “Two fixed-wing 16 seater #madeinindia DO-228 Aircraft will connect remote parts of Arunachal this winter and usher in a new era of development in the region.”

Khandu has thanked the Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia and Secretary PS Kharola, Joint Secretary Usha Padhee, HAL, Alliance Air and the Union DoNER Minister for starting a new chapter in the aviation history of Arunachal Pradesh to connect the remotest parts of the state.

Apart from chief minister Khandu, his deputy Chowna Mein, home minister Bamang Felix, MP Tapir Gao and the state chief secretary were also present in the agreement signing event.
