Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) B D Mishra on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting at the Raj Bhawan in Itanagar where the challenges, shortcomings and way-ahead in regards to the Sainik School at East Siang district were discussed at length.

The meeting, among others was also attended by education minister Taba Tedir, education secretary Dr Madhu Rani Teotia, planning secretary Himanshu Gupta and East Siang deputy commissioner Dr Kinny Singh.

The Governor emphasized that concerted efforts must be made by all stakeholders to make the school one of the best educational institutions of Arunachal Pradesh and also in the Northeast.

He said that Sainik School, East Siang district can produce the best officers for the armed forces, provided it has the requisite support from the State Government for adequate amenities for good education ambience.

The Governor advised the education minister to review the progress of the school and expedite the process in developing the school campus which is in its nascent stage.

“In just two years of its existence, the students of the school have received accolade in recently concluded inter-Sainik School Games and Sports championship held in Imphal, Manipur,” the Governor said.
