In a sensational incident, the Bokajan police have recovered the body of a driver who was found dead inside the cabin of his truck early on Tuesday morning.
The truck was parked in a private Weigh Bridge alongside NH-39 in the Phulbari area of Bokajan in Karbi Anglong district.
As per reports, both the driver and helper were drunk the previous night and were heard quarrelling.
Later, the dispute turned violent and the helper stabbed the driver dead under the influence of liquor.
The deceased driver has been identified as Krishna Chauhan Chetry, a resident of Barpathar Hatighuli Village in Golaghat district.
Police have arrested the helper Meghraj Chetry and are investigating the involvement of any co accused in the incident.
