The Capital Police has arrested two more persons in connection with the Late Techi Meena Lishi death case in Arunachal Pradesh.

Itanagar Capital Region superintendent of police Jimmy Chiram said that two individuals namely Vijay Biswas (30) and Chumi Taya (26) were arrested by the police on Monday after they were found to be linked in Late Meena’s murder conspiracy.

With the arrest of Vijay and Chumi, the total number of arrests in the case has risen to seven.

“The arrests were made following proper interrogation and due crosschecking. Vijay is a resident of Nagaon, Assam and was working under Roni Lishi (Meena’s estranged husband) in his firm, while Chumi is Roni’s third wife and belongs to the Kamle district,” the SP said.

On November 5, Techi Meena Lishi and her seven-month unborn baby were allegedly murdered by a hired killer on the orders of Roni who is also the son of a former legislator.

Roni has reportedly confessed to having hatched the plan to murder his wife.

SP Chiram said “Vijay and Chumi were the ones who were handling the equipment (mobile phones) used in the conspiracy and there is a high probability that they were linked in the case,”

Replying to queries in regard to the police filing a charge sheet in the case, the SP said: “The case is complex and collecting evidence is taking time. The charge sheet would be filed soon.”

“The investigation is still in progress,” Chiram said while adding one, out of the 7 arrested so far, has been sent to judicial custody while the rest are under police custody.
