A cadre of the Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland-Reformation (NSCN-R) surrendered before the security forces in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district.

The surrendered cadre was identified as SS Private Bansam Hangphuk (33), a resident of Watlom village, Yatdam circle.

As per sources, the surrendered person was said to be involved in several extortion activities in the area.
He was usually targeted local businessmen to execute his extortion activities.

On the other hand, a team of the Assam Rifles and Changlang police apprehended another suspected operative of the NSCN-R from the general area of Jongsum village in Changlang.

The suspected cadre was identified as SS Lieutenant Salhap Jugli alias Salnang (46), a resident of Jongsum village.
As per the operating team, one pistol with 6 rounds of live ammunition and some “incriminating articles” were recovered from his possession.
