Arunachal Pradesh home minister Bamang Felix along with health minister Alo Libang visited various places in the Itanagar Capital Region and took stock of the Covid19 situation.

The ministers on Thursday visited the dedicated Covid health centre at Midpu, the dedicated Covid hospital at Chimpu and the Gumto, Banderdewa and Hollongi check gates and took stock of the Covid19 situation.

While discussing ways and means to stop the spread of Covid19, the ministers urged the frontline workers to work together as a team so as to contain further spread of the disease.

The ministers while acknowledging the effort of the frontline workers urged the ones posted at the check gates to carry out their duties with utmost sincerity to ensure that there are no lacunas while dealing with the entry of people.

While interacting with all the officers and officials posted at the Covid hospitals and check gates, the ministers also asked them to put forward their grievances, if any, to which few issues like shortage of manpower and unavailability of toilets were discussed.

The ministers assured to do the needful to solve the issues.

The team during their visit to DCH Chimpu, which has a total capacity of 42 beds, was informed that around 164 more beds would be made functional at the earliest taking the total capacity of the DCH to 206.

“Out of the 206, around 28 beds would be made functional as ICU,” the DCH in-charge informed.

The officers present also informed that the Covid Care Centre at Lekhi has been made functional since Wednesday.

Itanagar Capital Region deputy commissioner in-charge Talo Potom and Papum Pare DC Pige Ligu, SPs Jimmy Chiram and Neelam Nega and DMO Dr Mandip Perme accompanied the ministers on the day.
