Arunachal Pradesh governor BD Mishra on Saturday interacted with families engaged in making the traditional Monpa handmade paper in Tawang.
The governor took stock of the traditional paper industry of the state during the interaction.
State chief minister Pema Khandu was also present on the occasion.
The traditional art of making handmade paper dates back to about 1000 years and used to be the major source of livelihood for majority of the people in the district.
However, the handmade paper industry suffered a major setback during the past 100 years.

The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) had to finally step in to revive his dying industry.
