The West Siang unit of Arunachal Pradesh Doctors’ Association (APDA) has so far successfully distributed around 10,400 masks to the public.

The distribution has been made within a week following the launch of its “Masks for All” campaign on April 12.

A team of doctors comprising of APDA secretary Dr Olen Tatak, Dr Tomar Kamki, Dr T Kaye, Dr Jumge Padu, Dr Gedo Kamsi and Dr Nyade Padu Bagra along with West Siang Bar Association president Minrik Noshi and other selected volunteers have been distributing the masks in the district headquarters.

Meanwhile, the district’s COVID-19 nodal officers Dorjee Nima and Sapbi Yomcha on Saturday disclosed that a total of 14 persons including six males and 8 females who have entered the district from outside have been put under quarantine.

One of them is quarantined from April 4 while the rest were put on quarantine from April 15.

On the other hand, a total of 1030 migrant labourers have been provided ration from the National Disaster Response Force fund and volunteers are on the move to reach out to targeted groups

Donation from various quarters is flowing in to help the doctors in fighting the pandemic while many of the rent owners in Aalo have waived the rents of their tenants on humanitarian grounds.
