The Lower Subansiri district administration has started door-to-door delivery of essential commodities, and medicines (for those with prescription) in Ziro and Hapoli.

The people can place their orders by sending their requirements through WhatsApp on 6009476805 while they can also withdraw cash through POS devices during the lockdown period.

Lower Subansiri EAC Bamin Tarang who flagged off the first consignment of eight orders on Thursday said, “With this facility, all the grocery shops Ziro and Hapoli townships shall remain closed till further orders.”

“The volunteers and delivery boys have been briefed about the safety measures and directions issued and to maintain distance while delivering the orders,” the EAC said.

The West Siang district administration also on Thursday worked out all modalities on delivery of essential commodities to consumers during the shutdown in a meeting with the officers and stakeholders concerned.

The meeting held under the chairmanship of ADC Liyi Bagra resolved that around three to four government vehicles will be requisitioned to lift all the essential commodities in sectors and colonies of Aalo, the headquarters of the district.

The distribution would be carried on, on a roaster basis to tide over any situation of ration crisis.

The district food and civil supplies department and market committees would now tie-up with all shopkeepers to supply the required commodities as specified in the meeting.

ADC Bagra, during the meeting also directed the officials concerned to trace the students, labours and businessmen who have come in the district during the past two weeks those who need to be quarantined and kept under close observation.
