Arunachal Pradesh deputy chief minister Chowna Mein on Tuesday took stock of the Covid19 situation in Namsai district.
Addressing a meeting, Mein appealed to all not to panic and said “all the positive cases detected in the state were asymptomatic.”
“All the Covid19 positive cases were detected at quarantine centres and they are being monitored properly,” he said.
The state registered 5 new Covid19 positive cases on Tuesday, taking the state’s overall tally to 27.
The deputy chief minister said the state government has taken various measures to deal with situation and there is not need to panic.
“Apart from the two dedicated Covid19 hospitals at Naharlagun and Pasighat, the government has also set up intensive care units in 6 zonal hospitals of the state. A total of 679 isolation and 3303 quarantine facilities have also been established across the state,” he said.
The meeting further discussed on issues and steps to be taken on bringing transformation in agriculture and its allied sectors through use of innovation and technology.
Mein asked the district administration and the agriculture and horticulture experts to come up with long and short term plans for bringing transformation in the sectors.
Underscoring the importance of skill development among youths, he said collective efforts have to be made to engage the returnees in various activities so that they fill the vacuum created due to exodus of skilled workers to their respective states.
Matters related to law and order and charting out a future course of action to uplift the economy once the situation is under control were also discussed during the meet.
Meanwhile, education minister Taba Tedir along with MLAs Nabam Tuki, Techi Kaso, Tarin Dakpe, Kento Jini, Tanya Soki, Balo Raja, Jikke Tako and Nyato Rigia on the day visited the state quarantine centre at Lekhi and took stock of its functioning.
In a meeting that followed later, minister Tedir also appealed to the denizens not to panic by the news of positive cases and assured that proper medical care is being provided to them.
He stressed that the war against Coronavirus can only be won by collaborative participation of every individual.
Capital Complex deputy commissioner Komkar Dulom informed the visiting dignitaries that a total of 31 persons are currently under quarantine at the centre.
The district administration is ensuring availability of basic facilities to them while strictly maintaining the SoPs, Dulom said.
