Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu chaired the state cabinet meeting on Monday, where several significant decisions were made.

One of the key approvals was an amendment to the minimum qualifying marks for recruitment to Group A, B, and C posts, as well as the Common Examination Scheme (for Group C Posts) Rules, 2023.

To address the challenges faced by ex-servicemen candidates who often struggle to meet the minimum qualifying marks, the cabinet approved a proposal to align their qualifying marks with those of APST candidates and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) candidates.

This decision is in line with the government’s commitment to providing equal opportunities to all eligible candidates.

In a major boost to Arunachal Pradesh healthcare sector, the cabinet considered various proposals submitted by the health and family welfare department. These proposals aim to strengthen healthcare services through three key components: prevention, curative, and rehabilitation care.

To meet the increasing demand for health personnel and create employment opportunities, the cabinet approved the framing of recruitment rules for health and wellness officers, tutors, medical education directors, and family welfare directors.

Additionally, the recruitment rules for nursing superintendents were aligned with current needs and job responsibilities.

To ensure transparency and fairness in the selection of meritorious sportspersons, the cabinet decided to associate the APSSB with the selection process. This will help remove any ambiguity in following the department’s policy guidelines.
