Arunachal Pradesh is all set to showcase a village along the India-China border through a documentary as part of the year-long celebrations of the 75th year of Indian independence ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
Arunachal Pradesh’s Information, Public Relations and Printing department has sent a 12-member team to Kaho in Anjaw district for filming a documentary on the village and its people, The Hindu reported.
Kaho village is located about 580 km east of Itanagar and it is the first village from the China border in Anjaw
district.
Anjaw is one of the 11 districts of Arunachal Pradesh that share the international border with China.
According to the 2011 census, Kaho village has only 65 residents and the literacy rate of the village stands at 64.15%.
The brave people of Kaho village weathered the Chinese attack in 1962.
The people of the village assisted the Indian soldiers who had been outnumbered.
Kaho is one of the 7 villages in the Kibithoo development block bisected by the Lohit river,

The village is 225 km approximately from Tezu, the headquarters of Arunachal Pradesh’s Lohit district.
The report quoted the director of Information, Public Relations and Printing department, Dasher Teshi, as saying that the team left Itanagar, the capital city of Arunachal, by road on Friday and would reach Kaho on Sunday.
The border village is 580 km east of Itanagar.

The report quoted Teshi as saying, “Kaho is the first village from the China border. We plan to make a documentary on Kaho and its people who belong to the Meyor community. Very few people know about this village and its significance.”
The documentary has been sanctioned by the Arunachal Pradesh government.
