The shopkeepers and vegetable vendors of the Aalo daily market in West Siang district in Arunachal Pradesh have found a new reason to smile as the entire market area has been electrified and equipped with ceiling fans.

The entire facility has been provided by the local legislator to Kento Jini.

The facility is expected to bring comfort not only to the sellers but also to the buyers.

It was inaugurated by Jini amid cheer and applause on Saturday.

“The lights and fans have been installed for the welfare of the shopkeepers, especially the womenfolk who come from remote villages to sell their commodities and spend the entire day in the market bearing the scorching summer heat,” Jini said while addressing the shopkeepers.

The MLA informed that he would bear the entire cost of the power bills for a year and asked the bazaar committee to work out ways and means to pay the same in the future, besides keeping the electric equipment safe.

Jini said efforts would also be made to develop the present market sheds into concrete structures and to beautify the entire area in the years to come.

Assuring his support to all other issues being faced by the shopkeepers and bazaar welfare committees, he further appealed to the vendors and buyers to keep the market and its surroundings clean and maintain all Covid-19 related SOPs.
