Arunachal Pradesh Governor B D Mishra has exhorted the youths of the state to emulate Talom Rukbo’s ideology of unity and peace and also suggested them to work with honesty for development.

Attending the inaugural function of three-day Guru Divas (Lambona Longe) organized by Donyi Polo Yelam Kebang (DPYK) in collaboration of Indigenous Faith & Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) at Pasighat on Friday, Mishra said the religious ideology formulated by Golgi Bote Talom Rukbo was ‘supreme one’ and it was similar to theology described in the Vedas of the Hindus.

Mishra said one becomes great by his own wisdom and sacrifice, which Golgi Bote Talom Rukbo also showed in his life. He advocated that Guru Talom Rukbo should be honoured with “Light of Arunachal” title for his spiritual creation. He also observed that the Guru’s creation in Donyi-Poloism shows A to Z theological aspects including congregational prayer, way to worship and guide-path to the believers.

“I heartily honour personality and extra-ordinary creation of Golgi Bote Talom Rukbo in the promotion of the pre-existing tribal faith of Donyi and Polo (Sun and Moon) as supernatural energy for survival of mankind. The Great heart’s creation and path of wisdom may bring religious reform towards indigenous tribal communities of the state, while it will influence the growing youths in moral building”, Mishra observed.

Stating that Guru Talom Rukbo’s creation and religious ideology was accepted by all, the Governor urged the people to instill the ideology among younger generations and inspire them to work for the state’s all round development. He also asked DPYK members to bring their Guru’s idea forward and take step for its protection and promotion.

Governor Mishra informed that he has invited 17 officers serving in security forces to visit schools and colleges of Arunachal Pradesh and guide students to become good citizens and serve the nation in the future.

He also laid stress on creation and adoption of own script for writing mother tongue of the local tribes. He opined that it would be a privilege to their descendants for following up own dialect/mother languages in written form.

The Governor earlier unveiled a 20-metre high statue of Golgi Bote Talom Rukbo erected inside Central Donyi Polo Gangging premise at Pasighat. He also witnessed Guru Bandana of Donyi Poloism- a unique colorful mega song-dance in the form of prayer performed by the school girls.  Accompanied by his wife Neelom Mishra, Governor Mishra was also enthused by performance of a teen school girl Kenterina Pertin, who showed talent through her impressive speech and poem recitation on the occasion.

Among others, East Arunachal MP Ninong Ering, local MLA Kaling Moyong, Arunachal Minister Alo Libang, former Arunachal Ministers- Talo Mugli and Bosiram Siram besides DPYK and IFCSAP leaders and other dignitaries spoke in favour of protection and promotion of the Indigenous faith and cultures on the occasion.

The three-day religious event includes presentation of folk cultures, food fair, traditional attires, sports and literary competitions, drawing and painting competitions and felicitation of folk artists of the state. The event will come to end on October 7.
