The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd.) felicitated the badminton players of Raj Bhavan Badminton Stadium at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar on Sunday.

Some of the players won medals and some participated in the recently concluded 2nd Edition of North East Junior Prize Money Badminton tournament.

The Governor exhorted them to work harder, practice more and hone their technique to bring more laurels for the State and Nation.

He said that the players of the State have huge potential and they can do better than others in the game. He further said that the game of Badminton helps a person be physically fit and mentally alert.

Mishra , called upon the parents and guardians to encourage their children towards games and sports activities for a healthy lifestyle.

Motivating the children and youth for sporting activities will help the society in promoting healthy environment and also contain menaces such as drug abuse and other social evils, he added.

The Governor also advised the young shuttlers, who were in the age group of 4 to 15 years, to focus on the game while playing and concentrate in their studies during study hours.
