Thousands of Catholics from the Diocese of Itanagar led by Bishop John Thomas joined the Annual Eucharistic Procession held at the Catholic Church in Papu Nallah here on Sunday.

Speaking at the introductory rite of the Holy Mass, the Bishop exhorted the people to be proud of their faith and have the courage to show it.

“Show your faith, but respect the faiths of others as well,” Bishop Thomas said as he then led the gathering in praying for the nation, especially the State of Arunachal Pradesh, for its leaders, both civil and religious.

Earlier during the con-celebrated Holy Mass, Rev Fr Kamil Horo, parish priest of St Mary’s Church, Itanagar in his homily instructed the faithful on the Kingdom that Jesus came to establish contrary to the kingdoms of the world and the nature of Christ’s Kingship.

He called upon the Catholic community to follow the footsteps of Jesus who washed the feet of his disciples and set an example of service to humanity and a prerequisite to enter heaven and everlasting life.

The faithful who followed prayerfully the Holy Eucharist prayed throughout the procession and sand prayer songs invoking blessings on Arunachal and especially the State capital and its inhabitants.

The annual Eucharistic Procession gives and occasion for the Catholics to showcase their faith in a prayerful manner and thus grow in their faith.
