Assam Director General of Police Kuladhar Saikia on Sunday hinted at bringing a judge and his wife under the ambit of investigation into the APSC cash-for-job scam if sufficient evidences are found.
The investigating police in its chargesheet mentioned that two lawyers acting on behalf of the APSC scam accused hatched a plan to get favourable judgment and paid a cash amount of Rs 1 crore to wife of a special judge for handling the case of arrested ACS officer Pallavi Sharma Choudhury.
The Dibrugarh Police has been investigating into the multi-crore APSC cash-for-job scam.

Talking to the media here on Sunday, DGP Saikia said, “The judge in question and his wife would be brought under the ambit of investigation once evidences are found. Police have been examining the evidences as of now. The investigation is not finished yet. Only a part of the charge sheet has been filed.”
Saikia also said the investigation process would continue.
“More names may be there and that will come to light as the investigation goes on,” Saikia said.
Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) advisor Akhil Gogoi on Saturday questioned why the wife of the judge has not yet been arrested.
Gogoi also alleged that the investigation into the cash-for-job scam in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has been ‘impaired’ by political interventions.
Farmers’ leader Gogoi said due to political intervention, police have failed to arrest a large number of individuals and officials, who secured APSC jobs through unfair means.
