The Gauhati High Court has stayed the selection of 34 candidates through the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC).
The candidates were selected for the posts of Assistant Manager, Superintendent of Industries, and Assistant Industries Officer in the Industries and Commerce department.
The order was passed in response to a writ petition filed by Pranab Das and Sadananda Kalita challenging the selection process.
Advocate Bornali Bhuyan appeared for the petitioners, who challenged the selection process for not being made in terms of the advertisement issued by the APSC in 2016.
The Court has also issued notice to the APSC and the Government of Assam and others, returnable within four weeks.
