Assam Engineering College (AEC) Professor Dr Maushumi Baruah has been appointed as Director (in-charge) of Technical Education, Assam. Baruah, who teaches Computer Application at Assam Engineering College (AEC), will replace IAS officer Krishna Gohain.
Gohain, who also holds the charge of Secretary, Higher (Technical) Education department, has been relieved from the post of Director, Technical Education, Assam.
Prof Baruah will take charge on Friday.
According to sources, Professor Baruah, who is one of the regular members of expert committee of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for approval of colleges, visited widely across the country and inspected technical institutes.
