Nepal has created history by setting a Guinness World Record hosting the first fashion show at a place of the world’s highest altitude.

Titled as ‘Mount Everest Fashion Runway’, the event was held at an elevation of 5340 metre at Kalapathar.

The main objective of holding the fashion show at the highest altitude was to raise awareness about climate change and also to give the message to the world that Nepal is the destination for all activities.

The event was organized by KASA Style recently in partnership with RB Diamond, Nepal Tourism Board and Visit Nepal Year 2020 Secretariat, say media reports.

Apart from Nepal, models from various countries like Finland, Italy, Sri Lanka and Singapore participated in the fashion show.

During the fashion show, models showcase the clothing line of KASA and jewellery collection of RB Diamonds.

As per reports, the clothing line of KASA was made of Nepali Pashmina, Felt and Yak Wool.

The jewellery collection showcased some exclusive Kainite stone jewelleries in addition to popular jewellery designs used in Nepal.

In order to host the show, a team of 48 people started trekking from Lukla to Kalapathar on January 18.

The entire journey has been made as a reality show which will be telecast in MTV USA & Canada during April-May this year.

Moreover, the team used bio-degradable designed clothes, shampoo, detergent, waterless bath and solar technology during the trekking to Kala Patthar to avoid environmental pollution.
