Bhutanese refugees in Nepal demanded permanent solution to their problems by the Nepal government.

A delegation of Bhutanese refugees reached Kathmandu three days back to draw the Nepal government’s attention towards their problems. The team met Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Nepal Chief Minako Kakuma, Home Secretary Prem Kumar Rai and Refugee Coordination Unit Under-Secretary Munka Neupane.

The delegation reiterated its demands for repatriation, rehabilitation in the third country.  Their other demands include localisation, internationalisation and renewal of the registration process for those who were left out earlier.

The delegation comprising Morang based Pathari – Shanischare Camp Secretary Chempa Singh Rai, Beldangi Camp Secretary Rasaili and former Secretary Yuvraj Sangpang Rai, among others also met government officials, representatives of different political parties to press for their demands.
