Consul General of Bhutan Phub Tshering calls on Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi in Guwahati on Thursday.

To strengthen connectivity between Bhutan and Assam, the neighbouring country has planned to operate a new flight in the sector.

Consul General of Bhutan Phub Tshering on Thursday said in Guwahati that very soon one more flight will start from Guwahati to Thimpu connecting Singapore.

Consul General Tshering, who called on Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi at Raj Bhawan here, discussed with him issues concerning bilateral interests like trade and commerce and tourism in particular.

Responding to Governor Mukhi’s request of increasing the frequency of flight from Guwahati to Paro connecting Singapore, Consul General Tshering informed that very soon one more flight will start from Guwahati to Thimpu connecting Singapore, said a Raj Bhawan statement.

During the meeting, both Mukhi and Tsering’s discussed deepening the bilateral relation taking advantage of Act East Policy.

Governor Mukhi stressing on frequent interaction between Assam and Bhutan and requested Tshering for taking adequate measures of sending business and cultural delegations to Assam on a regular basis to which Assam will also reciprocate.

Hailing the Governor’s statesmanship, the Consul General said that though India and Bhutan enjoyed balanced business relations, it will grow deeper to include more sectors to the mutual benefit of both Bhutan and Assam.
