Two wild elephants attacked a Rohingya refugee camp that left one person dead and two injured.
The incident took place in the wee hours of Friday at Kutupalong Lombasia No 1 Rohingya refugee camp at Ukhia in Cox’s Bazar.
The deceased has been identified as Yaqub Ali.
The wild jumbos also demolished six makeshift shelters in Madhurchara area of the camp.
Yakub Ali was trampled to death on the spot and his wife Anowara Begum and son received injuries into the attack. The injured were rushed to Ukhia Upazila Health Complex.
Last year also six persons including two children were killed by wild elephants in the Kutupalong refugee camp.
