Madhya Pradesh energy minister Pradhuman Singh Tomar on Friday set an inspirational example of public service by cleaning the toilets of the commissioner’s office in Gwalior.
While paying a visit to the office, a woman employee complained to the minister that the washrooms meant for them were extremely dirty, say media reports.
He had then asked the local body officials to provide him cleaners and along with civic conservancy staff the minister started cleaning the toilets.
Later, Tomar told reporters dirty toilets cause difficulties to all, especially women.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi to MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhanmake continuous efforts to ensure cleanliness. Offices should be clean,” Tomar said adding that the officials have been directed to ensure that toilets are always kept clean and usable.
Tomar joined the BJP from the Congress in March.
Cleanliness is said to be one of the most important ways to protect oneself from getting infected by COVID19 amid the rising cases of the deadly virus in the country.
Meanwhile, coronavirus cases in India climbed to 16,38,871 when the country recorded single-day spike of more than 55,000 cases in a span of 24 hours on Friday.
According to the Union Health Ministry, India recorded a spike of 55,079 COVID19 positive cases and 779 deaths in the last 24 hours.
