The Ministry of Home Affairs (HMA) on Sunday clarified that that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has not undergone any fresh test for COVID19 since last week.

The MHA clarification comes shortly after BJP parliamentarian Manoj Tiwari tweeted that Shah had tested negative for COVID19.

However, Tiwari later deleted the tweet.

“Home Minister Amit Shah ji’s Covid report showed he is negative,” Tiwari had tweeted in Hindi.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah tested positive for COVID19 on August 2.

The news was confirmed by Shah on his Twitter handle in the afternoon on August 2.

The Union Home Minister tweeted that he was getting admitted to a hospital as per the advice of the doctors.

“On getting the initial symptoms of the Corona, I got the test done and the report came out positive. I am feeling okay, but on the advice of the doctors I am getting myself admitted to a hospital,” Shah had tweeted.

The Union home minister had requested all those people who came in contact with him to isolate themselves and get tested for COVID19.

“I request everyone who has come in contact with me in the last few days, please isolate and get yourselves tested,” 55-year-old Shah further said.
