Sensation prevailed over detection of at least 28 cases of scrub typhus cases in Thenzawl town in Serchhip district of Mizoram.
Of the 28 cases, 23 have been detected last week.

According to Thenzawl Community Health Centre (CHC) medical officer Dr Remlalnghaki, the first case of scrub typhus infection was reported in the town in 2015.
Since then, at least 36 people have been infected with the disease in the town.
Two people have died of the infection since January this year, according to State Health Department.
The first death was reported from the town on May 11 when a seven-year-old girl died of the infection in a hospital.
The second victim was 53-year-old Ramluahtlingi of Thenzawl Kanan Veng locality, who died at state referral hospital in Falkawn on Monday.
Scrub typhus is a mite-borne disease caused by Orientia tsutsugamushi.
The medical officer further said three new cases were last detected on Monday.
The symptoms of scrub typhus are fever, a primary lesion, a macular rash, and lymphad-enopathy.
In December last year, scrub typhus infection had claimed one in a village in the State.
