In the run-up to the launch of the Megha Health Insurance Scheme phase-IV in convergence with the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, several training programmes have been conducted with the support of the National Health Agency of the Central Government whereby core team members have been trained on new systems and software.

The MHIS phase-IV in convergence with Ayushman Bharat will be launched on December 20 (Thursday).

Megha Health Insurance Scheme CEO, Pravin Bakshi who is also the secretary Meghalaya Health and Family Welfare department, said that more training and capacity building exercises would be undertaken with all stakeholders in order to strengthen and streamline the service for the public.

He said that the State government through the State Nodal Agency of Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS) has been making continuous efforts to roll out the scheme for the benefit of the public.

The scheme will be launched by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma in the presence of Health Minister, AL Hek, and Dr Indu Bhushan, the Chief Executive Officer of National Health Agency of the Central Government.

The scheme will provide an insurance cover of Rs 5,00,000 to all citizens of Meghalaya, excluding State and Central government employees.

The scheme can be utilized in all empanelled hospitals in Meghalaya and outside the State.
