Guwahati: A woman was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) of the Assam Police from the Jalukbari area of Guwahati on Wednesday with suspected heroin vials.
As per sources, the woman is suspected to be a drug peddler and was arrested based on inputs about a possible deal.
The police raided the area, reached a house belonging to the woman and detained her.

On checking her residence, the police found a significant amount of suspected heroin.
The woman, identified as Riju Begum (23) was then arrested on allegations of being a drug peddler.

Police said that they seized 32 vials containing suspected heroin, weighing a total of 52.5 grams.
Apart from this, the police also seized 6 empty vials, a mobile phone and Rs 2300 in cash.
An investigation is being carried out and a case has been registered.
