Guwahati: A teenager died after drowning in the Brahmaputra River while performing a religious ritual in Guwahati, Assam on Sunday.
The two minor brothers were identified as Sahil Basfor and Aditya Basfor.
They were swept away by the powerful currents of the Brahmaputra River while they were in the river with their family members during the ritual.
Following the report of them being swept away by the flood, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) was called in.
During the operation by the SDRF, Sahil was rescued.
However, 17-year-old Aditya, a Class 10 student tragically lost his life.
The brothers were residents of the Railway Colony in Ambari, Guwahati.
