Assam Tripura: Police recover three dead bodies in past 24 hours Manipur

Guwahati:  In an act of immense courage, forest officials fought bravely when they were surrounded by 15 poachers in the Charaihagi forest camp area in Assam?’s Laokhowa Wildlife Sanctuary.

This resulted in the death of two poachers in Nagaon on Friday night at around 1 am.

According to reports, two brothers both aged below 30 years later identified as Jalil Uddin and Sameer Uddin were shot dead by the forest officials.

Both the brothers along with others were caught catching fish in Rowmari Beeland when the forest officials tried to stop them, the brothers attacked them with machetes and other weapons.

In retaliation, the forest officials had to use firearms.

Whereas others were able to escape, the two brothers were hurt grievously and they were taken to the hospital where doctors declared them dead.   

The deceased are Jalil Uddin and Sameer Uddin. The duo are residents of Dhingbari Chapari village under Juria Police Station.

The Forest Department officials caught hold of these poachers during a routine patrol.

After the incident, the bodies of the deceased were shifted to Nagaon Civil Hospital overnight by the forest department.

To ensure that there are no untoward incidents the authorities have deployed a large number of police and forest department personnel in the area to maintain peace and ensure security.
