Parimal Suklabaidya, who recently took charge as the State Forest and Environment Minister, on Tuesday reiterated BJP-led Assam government’s zero tolerance against corruption.

Talking to media persons here on Tuesday, Suklabaidya said, “The State government is striving to prevent corruption not only in the Forest Department but also in all other departments also. Zero tolerance against corruption is the only motto of this government.”

The minister further assured the people of the State that he would personally give cent per cent in preventing corruption in the Forest Department of the State.

Suklabaidya said, “None of State government department is corruption free. Good and bad are the two sides of the same coin. Both are present everywhere at the same time. Still our government is trying to eradicate corruption.”

“The Forest Department has complete responsibility to save the ecosystem in the State,” the minister said.

Replying to a question on repair of the damaged wall of the Assam State Zoo-cum-Botanical Garden in Guwahati, the minister said that the government would take necessary measures in the matter.

Reacting to a query on the dissatisfaction among the BJP MLAs across the State after the first expansion of the Sarbananda Sonowal ministry, Suklabaidya said, “We have some specified rules and regulations regarding how many ministers to take from which valley. We should not divide the State separately into Barak Valley and Brahmaputra Valley. The Chief Minister can change my department also if he thinks or can eliminate me from the ministry. Then also, I will continue to work as an MLA.”
