IOCL CSR initiative

The Guwahati-Siliguri Pipeline Unit (GSPL) functioning under Eastern Region Pipelines (ERPL)  will provide 65 solar powered street lights at the Sadilapur area of Jalukbari, Guwahati.

The decision was taken as a part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative which strives to take reformative measures for the company’s effect on environment and makes an impact in social welfare.

The Sadilapur village came under the coverage of the scheme implemented by the Guwahati-Siliguri Pipeline Right of Way.

The facilities were handed over to the people by SK Satija, Executive Director of ERPL on March 3, 2018.

The beneficiaries of the respective villages were very grateful for the gesture on the part of IOCL-GSPL. It was especially commendable as the installation of solar lights in the rural roads greatly enhanced the security and safety of the women of the villages.

It is also expected to reduce the number of crimes against the villagers that are carried out under the cover of the dark.
