The Brand Ambassador of Assam Tourism, Priyanka Chopra, has joined the RSS!
Forget the fact. The national media has gone agog with the news of Priyanka joining the RSS after a photograph depicting the actor wearing khaki, much like the attire of the RSS, went viral on the social media.
The Bollywood heartthrob and ‘Quantico’ star Priyanka Chopra was appointed as the Brand Ambassador of Assam Tourism by the ruling BJP government in 2016. Since then, she has been promoting Assam tourism under the brand entity ‘Awesome Assam’.

The actor had acted in a short documentary film showcasing important tourist destinations in Assam.
Chopra’s tenure as Brand Ambassador has, however, not been very smooth so far as there were controversies raging her appointment.
She also got herself entangled in controversy by remaining silent during the worst flood situation in the state while Bollywod stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Amir Khan raised their voice to tide over the crisis.
The Opposition Congress in Assam had also been demanding removal of Chopra as Brand Ambassador of Assam Tourism due to her photograph in ‘minimal cloths’ as featured in a calendar of Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC).
The ‘Quantico’ star was also often criticised in Assam for her ‘lack of interest’ in Assam. Chopra however, never visited Assam after her marriage.
