Bengali restaurant 6 Ballygunge Place in Lachit Nagar, is hosting a Pithe Puli Festival from January 13-15. Apart from enjoying pitha, laru at home during magh bihu, people can also enjoy pithas, with a Bengali twist at the restaurant.
The special menu for magh bihu will include mouth-watering Basanti Bhapa Puli, Baashori Bhapa Puli, Kesari Patishapta, Gajorer Patishapta, Dhakai Ros Pithe, Ros Bora and Komola Chushi Pithe.
”Baromashe taro parbon” is a popular saying in Bengali culture – and aptly put, that’s what describes 6 Ballygunge Place, the brand showcases a detailed history of Bengali cuisine. The flagship restaurant was refashioned out of an old zamindari style bungalow at 6 Ballygunge Place in Kolkata in 2003, thus giving its name. With our outlet in Guwahati, it has been a constant endeavour to highlight all the festivals which are an inherent part of our region and showcase the food associated with it. Thus, the Pitha Festival was born,’ said co-owner S Ramani.
“The Pithe Puli Festival, is part of our yearly calendar. Our chefs have planned an eclectic menu consisting of various pithe which will be part of the festival. It will be celebrated at Kolkata as well as Guwahati,” added co-owner Chef Sushanta Sengupta.
