Guwahati: A highly decomposed body of actress Noor Malabika Das who hailed from Assam and was residing in Mumbai was found in her Lokandwala flat by the Oshiwara police.
According to reports, the actress who last appeared alongside Kajol in the web series The Trail committed suicide on June 6.
The tragic discovery was made after Noor’s neighbours reported a foul smell emanating from her apartment.
The neighbours immediately informed the Oshiwara Police, who subsequently forced their way into the flat.
They found Noor’s decomposed body hanging from a ceiling fan.
According to reports, Noor was 37 years old.
The police have initially ruled the death as a suicide, though a thorough investigation is still in progress. An accidental death case has been registered by the police and they have ruled out any foul play in the initial investigation.
Accordingly, the police attempted to contact Noor’s family members after conducting a panchanama, but no immediate family members came forward to claim her body.
Consequently, her last rites were carried out on Sunday.
Noor was residing in the Lokhandwala apartment on rent and was reportedly alone at the time of her death.
According to reports Noor hails from Assam and she earlier worked with Qatar Airways.
She had notable roles in several web series, including Siskiyaan, Walkaman Upaya, and Charamsukh among others.
The actress had over 163K followers on Instagram and she used to often share photos and videos to entertain her followers.
