Tripura cabinet on Thursday decided to continue the services of all teachers recruited under the Sarba Shiksha Abhiyan. The contracts of these teachers are supposed to end on March 31.

Tripura Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said the state government is in regular contact with the centre regarding this and for financial allocation. He also said the state will bear the salary expenditure of the teachers under SSA till the release of central fund.

Nath further said during the just concluded assembly session the chief minister had ordered the district administrations and the superintendent of police to provide report on the present scenario and make all government land free of various political party offices throughout the state.

He said the government shall also scrutinize all land allocations given by the previous Left Front government during its 25 years rule to various institutions, organizations and individuals and step will be initiated if any lacuna is detected.

Moreover, the government will observe the month of April as energy conservation month in the state and for that various awareness programmes shall be organised involving schools, colleges, social organization, clubs and NGOs.
